James Franco recently appeared on Candy magazine in drag, and Marc Jacobs recently dressed in drag for the cover of Industrie magazine. Now that androgyny is in, transsexual models are booking some of the best campaigns. Of course this is not new.

In the 1960s, April Ashley modelled for British Vogue and was photographed by David Bailey and Lord Snowden before her transsexual status was revealed in the tabloid press. Back then, it killed her career.

Nowadays, I’m glad that the fashion industry is embracing diversity :).
